By creating an account, shipping with us, or otherwise using the services provided by Emerald Express ("Emerald Express", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Service Description

Emerald Express provides courier and freight-forwarding services between the United States and Jamaica, including a US mailing address for online shopping, package consolidation, local delivery within Jamaica, and related services.

2. Account Registration

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Each account is for personal or business use by the registered party only and may not be transferred.

3. Prohibited & Restricted Items

You may not ship any item that is illegal, hazardous, or restricted by US export law, Jamaican Customs, or our carriers. Prohibited items include but are not limited to:

  • Firearms, ammunition, explosives, and weapons of any kind
  • Illegal drugs, narcotics, and controlled substances
  • Flammable liquids, compressed gases, and hazardous chemicals
  • Currency, negotiable instruments, and counterfeit goods
  • Perishable food, live animals, or human remains
  • Any item prohibited by Jamaica Customs Agency regulations

If a prohibited item is found in a package, it may be seized, destroyed, or surrendered to the relevant authorities at your expense.

4. Shipping Rates, Duties & Taxes

Shipping charges are calculated based on the actual or dimensional weight of the package, whichever is greater. Customs duties, GCT, and other government fees imposed by the Government of Jamaica are the responsibility of the customer and must be paid before delivery or pickup. Rates are subject to change without prior notice.

5. Package Receipt & Storage

Packages received at our US warehouse are held until ready to ship to Jamaica. Free storage is provided for a limited period; extended storage may incur additional fees. Emerald Express is not liable for packages received at incorrect addresses or addressed to incorrect mailbox numbers.

6. Delivery & Pickup

Customers must collect packages within thirty (30) days of arrival at our Jamaica office, unless delivery has been requested and paid for. Packages not collected within ninety (90) days may be considered abandoned and disposed of at our discretion.

7. Liability

While we take every reasonable precaution in handling your packages, our liability for loss or damage is limited to the lesser of the declared value or US$100 per shipment, unless additional insurance has been purchased. Emerald Express is not liable for delays caused by carriers, customs, weather, or other circumstances beyond our control.

8. Payment

Payment for shipping, duties, and other fees must be made in full prior to release of packages. We accept Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, and other approved payment methods. All transactions are processed in either USD or JMD, as applicable.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Jamaica.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
